Accessible Beaches

On Monday 6th October 2025, the Municipality of Ermionida announced the approval of the investment plan entitled 'Provision for the improvement of accessibility to marine destinations'.  This is part of the 'Accessible Beaches' programme of 'Tourist Development', which is financed by the Recovery and Resilience Fund from the Ministry of Tourism.  This will enable the Ermionida Municipality to have four fully accessible beaches created for persons with disabilities or mobility problems for Summer 2026.  The four selected beaches within Ermionida are Kouverta (Blanket) Beach near Ermioni, Dardiza Beach near Thermisia, Evangelistria Beach within Kilada and Ververonda Beach near Porto Heli.  The Municipality hope to make other beaches in Ermionida accessible and friendly in the future.

The 'Accessible Beaches' project will include:

  • The supply of a self-propelled wheeled mechanism for access to the sea for people with mobility problems.
  • The supply of a polyester beach walkway of specifications for use by people with disabilities.
  • The supply of an amphibious swimming wheelchair
  • Wide wooden walkway for wheelchair access
  • Autonomous photovoltaic charging system device.
  • Changing rooms for people with disabilities
  • Information signage
  • Shading areas
