Following local elections held in Ermionida on Sunday 8th October 2023, with all votes counted, present Mayor Yiannis Georgopoulos (pictured left) was re-elected for a second consecutive 5-year term as the Mayor of Ermionida.  As the founder of 'Mighty Hermione', his New Democracy Party deputies and colleagues made massive steps in making the whole area a cleaner, safer, better place to live and visit.  During the global pandemic, he handled the whole situation in an exemplary manner in defending the citizens of Ermionida.  He crafted a cleaner Municipality, following the waste management situation the previous council had created.  He succeeded in implementing important projects, and during his Mayorship, the popularity of Ermionida as a tourist destination reached its highest level.

Mayor Yiannis Georgopoulos was also someone to be reckoned with in the central political scene, as he knew how to claim and get results.  He had the City Hall doors in Kranidi open to all citizens/residents of Ermionida, and more importantly, he trusted the new generation, resulting in Ermionida integrating a winning a team of executives, a 'family' of local helpers valuable for years to come.

Yiannis Margetas with the 'Step to Tomorrow' Independent Party came in 2nd place, with Stavros Cousta, Syriza Party, in 3rd place.

12th October:  Anastasios Ganossis, from Ermioni, was elected for a second consecutive term as a Regional Councilor of Argolida.
