Porto Hydra is a large coastal residential area that is more famously known for the Porto Hydra Village complex, located 12.5 kms East of Ermioni. The Village has private properties built around a canal network giving access to the sea and the Argo-Saronic islands of Hydra, Poros and Spetses. Porto Hydra Village was founded in the early 1990's and enjoyed unrivelled popularity with the International and Greek jet-set of the time. Located on the mainland, opposite the picturesque island of Hydra, it has been described as the 'Venice of the Argo-Saronic Gulf'.
