FREDDIE - Apr '26
FREDDIE THE GREEK was a two-week old baby-kitten when found alone in bushes near a Greek road-side church. Returning and searching the area in the following days revealed no mother or any other siblings. By then, Freddie had already been taken to the local vet for a check-up and proved to be in good health considering the circumstances and his young age. We had already decided to keep him at home, and began the process of regular feeding so Freddie would have the strength to grow up to be a healthy kitten. At home, he had to share his early life with three much older female cats, that had little interest in playing with him as he settled in to his new envioronment, so we became his only playmates. As he began to grow into a kitten, he was shown a lot of love, care and attention in his new home.
We were informed by a friend of ours that a young German couple were very interested in giving Freddie a new permanent home. As they were planning a holiday in Nafplio during September, they agreed to collect him before they returned back home. We had Freddie get all the necessary inoculations, chip and passport, as well as being neutered before they arrived, so he was all ready to be collected by his forever 'parents' at the end of their stay. It was really sad to see Freddie the Greek depart, but we were sure that he would be well taken care of, especially as his new family had also adopted a young Greek stray kitten called Jorgus, already waiting to play with Freddie in his new German home. The young kittens quickly bonded with each other, spending their days playing together and evenings cuddled up with each other. Another happy ending for a GreekSTRAYS kitten from Ermioni.
